How to shop online

Thanks to the internet, it’s easier than ever to get whatever you need delivered straight to your down. Whether it’s groceries, furniture, clothes, books, or anything else you need, it’s all available through online shopping.

In order to shop online, you’ll need access to a credit or debit card, and you’ll often need an email address so that you can create an account or track an order.

Where to shop

There are several online shopping options, although Amazon.com is likely the most popular. However, you can also search directly for whatever you’re looking to purchase using a search engine like Google.com. Simply enter the product you’re looking for into the search bar, and a results page will then have a tab at the top labeled “shopping,” where you can find listings from a variety of sources.

If you shop through Amazon, simply visit the website’s home page and type the product you’re looking for in the search bar. You’ll then see a number of options, some of which will have two-day shipping and other offers.

If you’d like to shop directly from a business, you can do that, as well. Using a search engine, type in the name of the business — whether it’s Best Buy, Kohl’s, Target, or anywhere else you’re interested in. The top results on the search page will point you to the website you’re looking for.

How to make an online order

Once you’ve found the product you want, you’ll need to add it to your shopping cart. There should be a large button on the product page that allows you to do this. You can then either continue shopping, adding more products to your shopping cart, or check out with what you have.

Some websites will require you to make an account before you checkout, in which case you’ll need to use an email address to sign up. Others will allow you to checkout as a guest, but may still require an email address so that you can receive updates about your order.

The checkout page will have a summary of your order, including the products you selected and the total price. You’ll then need to input your address in order to calculate shipping costs and time estimates.

Once the price has been finalized, you’ll enter your credit card information and billing address, then review your purchase. If everything looks in order, you can complete your purchase and expect delivery soon!

Tracking your order

You should receive a confirmation email shortly after your purchase that details what you ordered and gives you a rough timeline on delivery. If you have any issues or questions, there will also be links to customer service within the email. You can expect to receive email updates when your order has officially shipped, then again when it’s out for delivery.
